Denver Therapy and Consultation Group (DTCG) is committed to providing the highest quality of psychological care to our clients and our community.

ABOUT US:

Denver Therapy and Consultation Group (DTCG), LLC offers an extensive range of expertise and services not always available in typical practices.

Most of our clinicians have 30+ years of experience. In addition to individual, group, and family therapy, Denver Therapy and Consultation Group provides seminars and training, community and government agency consultation, and supervision for LPC candidates. We are also available for ongoing community and government contracts.

All DTCG therapists are licensed by the state of Colorado, adoption competent, and have solid knowledge of community and specialty resources. Our therapists’ areas of expertise include foster care and adoption, marriage and relationships, family dynamics, trauma and abuse, depression, mood disorders, attachment and developmental trauma, and grief and loss.

OUR SERVICES:

Denver Therapy and Consultation Group offers a variety of therapy groups for children, adults, and families who have experienced sexual victimization and childhood trauma. We also provide educational seminars on diverse subjects. As changes regarding the Family First Act continue to occur, more services will develop to reflect these changes to services for children and families. Our experienced clinicians are committed to providing the highest quality of psychological care to our clients and community.

As a Family-Focused treatment provider, we offer customized Parent Training & Support, Family Coaching, and Home Training in addition to high quality therapy.

SERVICES & TREATMENTS OFFERED:

We are in the process of expanding throughout Colorado, so that our services can reach all 64 metro and rural counties statewide.  In addition, DTCG offers training and development opportunities to states nationwide.

Trauma

Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event and impacts a person’s mental, behavioral, emotional, and physical well-being. Reactions to trauma may include shock and denial as well as unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and even headaches or nausea.

Sex Abuse

Sex abuse is any unwanted sexual activity. Abuse can lead to shock, sadness, fear, anxiety, and depression.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy provides a safe, constructive environment in which couples can express their issues and work through challenges in a supported and healthy way.

Family Counseling

Family counseling is designed to address underlying issues between household members with the goal to improve communication and discover healthier ways to work together.

Dissociative Disorders

Dissociative disorders involve experiencing a disconnection and lack of continuity between memories, thoughts, consciousness, and identity. It is an involuntary escape from reality and usually develops as a response to trauma.

Grief & Loss

Grief is a natural reaction to loss. Outside help can be beneficial for individuals trying to recover and cope after a loss.

Foster Care Issues

Children in foster care often struggle with guilt and abandonment, further, nearly 50% of foster care children have clinically significant mental health issues.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is a one-on-one process with a trained mental health clinician. It is an opportunity to work through an individual’s immediate or near future concerns in a safe, caring, and confidential setting.

Parent Coaching

In-home parent coaching is a way for parents to gain support for a variety of parenting issues. It is a judgement-free, confidential means of supporting parents through a myriad of struggles.

Depression

Depression can present in different ways and does not have a single causal event. Symptoms can include: sleep and appetite changes, lack of concentration or interest in activities, loss of energy, hopelessness, guilt, lethargy, physical pains, and suicidal thoughts.

NeuroFeedback
Neurofeedback, a way for patients to learn to create and maintain desirable brainwaves, is a therapeutic treatment used for psychiatric conditions such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, phobic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, developmental and attachment disorders, depression and affective disorders, autism, and addictive disorders.
Attachment issues

Attachment issues exist on a spectrum from mild to severe. These issues result in difficulty connecting and forming meaningful relationships.

Adoption Issues

The seven core issues revolving around adoption are: loss, rejection, guilt & shame, grief, identity, intimacy, and control. Awareness of these issues and help in navigating them improves outcomes for permanence.

Group Counseling

Group counseling is an opportunity for small groups of individuals to come together to discuss and explore issues with each other and the group under the guidance of group therapists.

Anxiety Disorders

Everyone experiences anxiety, but anxiety disorders push beyond temporary worry or fear. It persists regardless of the threat level of the situation. The symptoms associated vary depending on the type of anxiety disorder.

Respite & Relief

In-home respite care provides short-term care and relief for primary caregivers in need of a break in order to prevent burn-out and excessive stress.
